left handed children and twins ....

Just curious if anyone can prove or disprove this theory . A friend of mine saw on the news where they were saying studies show that anyone who is left handed was a twin and in cases where only one child was born it meant the other twin never survived . I found this interesting as my sister is left handed , and my best friend that saw this has a son who is left handed as well and when she was three months she thought she was miscarring because she was spotting and having pain but when nothing happened and her son was born she never gave it any more thought until she saw this on the news . I found this rather intersting and was just curious if anyone else had heard about this as well and what your thoughts on it are ?

My daughter is a lefty and she never had a twin while she was in the womb that didn't survive. I know this for a fact because I had an ultrasound from day one. There was always one heartbeat and one fetus since the start. So I doubt this has any truth to it. I have heard the same thing before myself and it is an old wives tale. :)

I have never heard this theory. I had one sister who was left-handed, and there was no evidence or family history of twins in our family. I had 2 children, a son and a daughter. The daughter was left-handed and I was not pregnant with twins.

This is very interesting and I'll be very interested to know about the study. My grandmother, father, my brother and I are all left handed. My husband and my daughter are also left handed. When I was carrying my eldest daughter who is left handed, I had experienced some bleeding that I really cried so hard for fear that I may have also miscarried. This is the first time that I have heard of left handed people being a twin. I had always thought that left handedness has to do with brain activities or even genes.

My mother was a lefty, I don't think she was twin. I also have a nephew who is a lefty and I know for a fact that he was not a twin.
