here is the calorie table for rice: Food (Serving size = 1 cup)-Calories Rice, white, long grain, cooked-205 Rice, white, glutinous, cooked-170 Rice, brown, long grain, cooked-215 Basmati rice, cooked-170 Wild rice, cooked-150 Uncle Ben's, boil-in-bag (1/2 cup)-90 here is the calorie table for bread: Breads (1oz Slice unless stated)-Calories Bread, High-fiber-70 Bread, Homestyle buttermilk-80 Bread, Corn-65 Bread, Whole Grain Rye-70 Bread, Oat Bran-70 Bread, Multi-Grain Wheat-80 Bread, Foccacia, plain-80 Bread, Honey Cinnamon Raisin-75 Bread, Whole Wheat, Seeded-75 Bread, Whole Wheat (Sodium-free)-65 Bread, French-70 Bread, Garlic-120 Bread, Italian-75 so obviously, bread contains less calories than rice by their single servings... im also a rice person and i wanted to lose inches from my waist so im trying to cut down my rice intake... =)

But i thought rich is easier to digest? As in, i always hear lotsa people saying eat proper meals, but cut down on the bread intake... Eitherway, both has starch... I suppose just take the right amount and it helps... Not too little, jus enough to make u full and not too much either...

I think rice would have less calories than bread. Especially plain brown or white rice.Bread on the other hand can be made with butter and sugar and other ingrediants that have a high calorie count.
