One small MESSAGE on the eve of MAY DAY!

As we all know that MAY DAY is celebrated as the day for the labourers and workers. The main reason for celebrating this day is that everyone should remember that in every thing that we use, every eatables that we eat has a labour behind it. We should understand the pain that they take for us to enjoy it. I am happy that a seperate day is alloted to remember and salute them. We all are very grateful to those people. One more thing i would like to share here. I believe that most of the users here in myLot will be from a well settled/financially sound family. We spend money for so many things, but have we ever spent money for someone who needs it really. Have we ever contributed to some organisation which looks after the poor children and provides them education, which looks after the physically disabled people. I am sure most of us dont do it. Well i do it. I take some percentage of my salary and give it as alms. I am not boasting about me, but i want even others to start doing it. There are many grand parents over here, i am small in age when compared to them, but i dont think that there is anything wrong in sharing a good thought. We post discussions on the daily happenings in our life. But if we post some discussion in which others are benefited then it will be a blessing for them! Oops, i started this discussion with "one small message" but i think i have made it a big one. Sorry to cheat you people :(

Thank you very much for telling what May Day is about. I was taught in grammar school, but had forgotten. I also know that at the end of April, We have usually earned enough to pay off our taxes for the year, and the rest of the years earnings is what we have left. It is 'our' money. So this is an excellent time to start giving. I give 50% of my time to the girl scouts. Next year I will lead 2 troops, and assist with another. I am a very busy person! We do community service as a troop, and at home. My daughter and her best friend both had over 40 hours in about 10 months. I do not track mine. But I have done 3 over nighters and another on the way. I give a lot of time. Money i do not have a lot of, though. I often buy things for the troop instead of spending their money. That really adds up to a lot. I would help any friend in need and am a bank to my son, or so he thinks!LOL. i go out of my way to help others even if it costs me a little bit of money Thank you for posting this. I do thing people should give what they can, be it time, or money.

Thank you I love to help others. It is what god wants us to do. I am not sure, but I would have but something like: May Day, What are you doing for the day? Do you help others? May Day, Do you celebrate? Easy to answer titles do give the chance that others will answer that question only, but you do get more responses. I think the first 3 lines that show on the dis. list are the 'catchers' Make those 3 grab the person and want more info. The best advice I can give you is to pick good friends that respond to your threads as well as others that you like their topics so you have common interests. Good luck in all that you do!

I just wanted to ask you one question. You started one discussion saying that the good discussions dont recieve many responses. It hardly recieves one or two responses. You also said that the reason may be that the title of the discussion is not attractive. Now i want to ask you, whether the title of this discussion is not attractive? Why dont i get many responses?

Hey, you have posted a valuable suggestion & great one too.Its good to note that young people like you are motivated towards helping others.I have also seen many of my friends travelling long to visit some old age homes spend time with them and donate whatever they can. since its quite far , i acculumate old clothes, money from my known people and family and contribute to this old age home. Otherthan that i try to help out disabled people whenever i find them in roads. well may day is a remembrance day for laboureres who put much hard work.Definitly we should salute them and mark this day as respect to them.

Thanks for the enlightening meaning of labor day. I've never seen it that way before. I'm also touched by your concern to other people. the Lord said, if you have done these things (giving alms or help) to least of my brethren, you have done them to me. You're great, keep it up!
