Which way do you prefer? Build you own machine or pick one from the store, or a branded type from Dell or HP? Severa years ago, I like to build my own machine, where I learn some news about computer chips and othre compartments. It is time consuming to select the proper one, but it is real interesting thing to understand all the knowledge inside that cold box. But now, I do not have enough time read all this things, I begin to prefer the recommanded branded machines, which has tested good performance and nice service, yes, it is a little bit expensive , but it is worth.

I would never buy a pre-built branded pc such as dell or hp because they overcharge for their computers and the computers they sell for the price they sell them at are not as good as they should be. In the next few weeks i am going to ordering a pc that i personally decided what went into it. If you were to ask Dell or Hp for the pc i have made they would charge much much more than i am paying for it. There are many people though who do not have the knowledge, time or confidence to build a pc themselves and thats why companies such as Dell and HP can get away with overcharging for computers which can be built for a smaller price.

Yes, that is how they find the profit. I only buy it when I find the time spend on the selection of compartments and testing is much more then what I can earn at these time. Or, I have enough spare time.

since i'm not a professional in computers, it will be wise for me to have the assembled one. but i'm keen on learning about it, so that whenever there will be a problem with my PC it will be easy for me to fix it than to take to a shop and give me a high price for the service alone.

I rather build a PC, so I can understand how to put together and know exactly what componets are in a PC.If one component breaks, I can replace it without replacing the whole PC.But, it takes time to build a PC, and there is no support calls. If I buy It from the store, and it breaks down within a month, theres a warranty on the product and support calls, and I can't choose what components goes into a store brought PC.Now that's expensive. Building a PC is less expensive.
