MWRVS Volleyball Division 2 Champions - HERENCIA!

This weekend was our year end volleyball tournament. We had a great tournament and pretty much steam rolled through the round robin, losing only one match. We made it to the Championship Final and finished with a decisive 2-0 victory to capture our first Division 2 Championship. MWRVS has 24 tiers made up of 4 teams. Tier 1 is the most competitive. Division 1 (Tier 1&2) Division 2 (Tier 2&3) etc. There's not a lot of difference between Tiers 1-6 as the league is very competitive with some very skilled players. Lisa (setter) - was a rock with her setting all tournament. Amanda S (power/rightside) - was hitting and digging great all weekend. Karen (power) - was a solid power hitter and made very little mistakes all tournament. Amanda N (power) - an allround player was consistent the entire weekend. Debbie (power) - a solid sub all year. Devin (middle) - an absolute force at the net completely shutting down the opposition's offence, the number of blocks in the final was unbelievable. Jeff (middle) - an allround player was consistent all weekend. Ian (middle) - our "coach" contributed in all aspects especially with solid passing Kerry (middle) - a great performance in all aspects of offence and blocking And then there's me, Joel (setter/right side) - I know this wasn't my best hitting weekend (had a few kills). I think I had a pretty good weekend defensively as I felt I was reading the opposition's offence well in the back court and had some good digs and covered the court well. Another year put to bed. This year went by really fast. Soon enough the 07-08 season will start again and we'll be back at it in 4 short months. I love my teammates!
