Have you found one particular cleaning product or tool exceptionally useful?

I love to find great products (see my discussion on Method Home products) and tools that make life easier when it comes to keeping a house clean.
Recently I discovered the many uses of one of the cheapest tools around... a $1.50 sponge mop purchased from Dollar General. I have to tell you, I love it because it's so inexpensive. I can buy one for each room or project. And I don't get upset when they break or have to be tossed out because they're so inexpensive!I use the sponge mops to clean the walls (awesome for spring cleaning), painting (amazingly good because it applies the paint up high without having to get ladders), cleaning the tub and shower stall, scrubbing the carpets and getting rid of spots before running the shampooer and of course mopping.
What products or tools have you found to be most useful that perhaps others haven't thought of or seen?

Wow! $1.50 for a mop! That is an incredible buy. I haven't seen one around for less than $5.99. I bought one for my DIL last month. We don't have a Dollar General locally. Can't remember if I have ever seen them in my travels.

About the only tip I can give you is when you are cleaning a glass or bottle. I take a sponge or dishcloth and put it in the container and use a butter knife to move the cloth or sponge around inside. If it doesn't come clean on its own I put some salt in it and it makes a nice mild abrasive and the crud comes out easier.

I've heard putting some marbles in the bottom and sort of shaking them around a bit can help too. Of course you add some soap or baking soda, etc. to clean it with.

My favorite tool didn't cost anything. It is wire coat hanger that came from the dry cleaners and I stretched it out but left the hook part and I use it to reach things on high shelves. (I'm kinda short. LOL)

I love finding good deals like that. I love "the works" they have a toilet bowl cleaner and also a tile cleaner. It really does work. It cleans things great. I also love the window cleaner that is a foam. It's wonderful on the smooth topped stove and also for cleaning windows. It doesn't leave streaks behind. It's a great buy.

Oh I also love the new Clorax cleaners, the spray bottle and the floor one. They both do their job and last quite a while. They are worth the money.

I just love that vinegar. It kills germs, odors and you name it. I use it on glass and on tile in the bathtub ect. It dosent harm the environment and it helps cut cholerstrol when you eat it.I also like the way it brings out the shine.

Never thought of using sponge mops for walls and the other chores you mentioned. Great idea because we're getting ready to paint and need to clean walls down first. Will tell Mark and we'll buy several of them because we definitely will be needing a ton. LOL
