I just created a new banner for a online business I belong to calledf Jerky Direct. When I open my banner either in Yahoo or Internet Explorer this is the address that I get. C:\Documents and Settings\lloyd cope\My Documents\My Pictures\jerky direct.jpg The banner needs to be stored on my server, not on my computer. How do I upload it to a server and point it from there. The path should look more like this. http://www.computerserver/banner/banner1.gif Does anyone know how I do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Lloyd

Yes... You have to upload it via FTP on the server just like the rest of your website. But this can be a common error that people make when they create a website on their computer. Open the page where the banner is supposed to be... And check the link for your banner. It will say: C:\Documents and Settings\lloyd cope\My Documents\My Pictures\jerky direct.jpg Simply change it to: http://www.computerserver/banner/banner1.gif These things usually happen when you don't save your picture in the root of your website before linking to it. Your program don't retrieve the graphic to save it into your website... it simply link to the picture in your documents.

If you already have a server and an account--such as if you have a Web site-- there should be some instructions on how to upload files (both text and graphics) onto the server. Sometimes it's a graphical interface that asks you to browse files to upload (like Mylot), or it may be a more text-based operation using FTP (file transfer protocol).
