Better Homes and Gardens offers a great idea and directions at http://www.bhg.com/bhg/story.jsp?storyid=/templatedata/bhg/story/data/birdwatcherscuptea_06192001.xml which shows how to create these unique and very cute bird feeders out of old tea cups and saucers.
I am creating these, with the help of my dad (my drill guy LOL) for my mom for mothers day this year. I figure 3 or 4 will make a cute little assortment in the corner of her yard! I had to share with my fellow MyLot crafters!

Such a great idea. I think I'll be going to second-hand stores and purchasing teacups to do that. CJ would love to decorate them with me and I know the birds would really enjoy them as well. Mark thinks we have to many birds flying around our house in the boon-docks as it is; pooping on our cars, etc. But I love birds. We have Cardinals and all kinds of beautiful birds that fly into our yard. Thank you so much. I went to the website; great one...

You're most welcome!
I have a cat that gets out and no matter what brings me back little critters so I don't want to lure the birdies into the yard because of him. He does get out every so often.

This is absolutely great! I love it! I printed it off and my daughter and I will make them for my mom for Mothers day! She loves to bird watch and these are so darn cute- My daughter always makes something and we buy something too! Perfect! I love the bumble bee design and the bumble bee! This is going to be so much fun! And we have lots of old cups! Not a lot of saucers so I’ll be picking up some cheap ones at Wal-Mart today! Perfect! Thanks for the great link- I hope you have as much fun as we will!

Most welcome! AND... if you don't want to do the drilling... purchase a tube of E6000 and just glue the parts together. That glue is so wonderful and holds better than super glue!

I went to the site as I love to do all different kinds of crafts. This is a very unique craft that I will be making to put in one of the many flower gardens I have around the house. If you don't have any old cups and saucers the dollar tree is a good place to pick them up also.. or even better go to the garage sales get them for a couple cents a piece. These are just too cute. Thanks for sharing.

That is a very neat idea to create a bird feeder as I am going to the store today to look at bird baths. I may try making a bird feeder at some point. I went to that website and liked what I saw. I wonder if those bird feeders will attract many birds as they are small, unless you have several out there. Glad that your dad is there to help you. Is there anything about making bird baths?

That is too cute! My husband would think I totally whacked out if I were to put them in the yard, but what a great gift for the person who loves novelty gifts. My sister-in-law loves this stuff. Thanks for the tip.

Those are really cute. I'm going to have to check around at the yard sales and see what kinds of tea cups and saucers I can find so that I can make some of these for my yard too.
