Which one would you rather have...... money in the bank and also having debt.....or having no money in the bank but having no debt. For me it's a tough one. I like having money in the bank, it gives me a sense of security. But the idea of having no debt is also very attractive.

to be debt free is almost just a dream these days. i like to have that comfort of knowing if something bad happens, and i can't work, i will be ok for awhile. i think if i had no debt, then if would get in debt with something else,, because i could afford to be in debt again!! money is funny.. you don't need to have much to be happy, but you need to be happy, and it helps to have some money..

I'd have to say money in the bank and debt. Because if you have money in the bank, there is a big possibility you can get the debt paid off. If you have no money in the bank, and something happens, even if you had no debt before, you may find yourself in a whole heep of debt !! It happened to me once and I'll never forget it.

That is not a hard question for me. I would much rather have no debt even if there was no money. We could live off the land as long as our home was paid for. Until it is paid for I will be worried. Money is not as important as society has made it out to be.

Bank accounts usually carry a small interest - yet debt (credit cards, loans, etc.) generally have a higher interest. Unless the interest on the loan is a tax write off (house loan, home equity), then I just as soon pay it off at a faster rate and put less money in my savings.

I would choose debt free. To have no debt I would be a lot richer than any money I might have in the bank otherwise. If I were debt free the money would come soon enough - when I consider how much we have to send off each month to pay our bills - it is boggling to think we could be keeping all that had we not been so careless in our youth.

i would like to have money in the bank and no debt...he he. thats the best condition and it is possible. it is not necessary to have debts as long as you plan your expenditure and save in the bank...Live wisely and save wisely.

I believe I would rather have no debt and no money in the bank - just like now except I have debt LOL. But it also depends on what kind of debt we're talking about. I figure most people will always have a house payment (unless you rent but it's still a monthly payment) and car payments (unless you live in a large city). So I could live with those debts and money in the bank too. I don't have much debt outside of my house and car payments though. Just one credit card with a balance. I try not to use it much but we figure when we get my husbands Christmas bonus and with our taxes we can pay it off then. Plus we get our credit cards with the first year interest free too. That helps.

This is an easy one for me, I would much rather have no money in the bank and no debt. If I had money in the bank but I had debt, that money wouldn't be mine because I'd have to use it to pay back the debt. If I had no money and no debt, then I would know that whatever money I did make would be all mine and I could do what I wanted with it.

For me that would be easy as I only have enough money in the bank to pay off our bills each month so I have none saved up so I would prefer to have no money in the bank and have no debt either as I have enough each month to make my minumum payments but we are still in debt and will be for many years :)

It sounds like the same thing. LOL If you have money and debt the debt will take all of your money. Then you will have no money but (hopefully) no debt. So i'll choose no money in the bank but no debt.

I would choose to have no debt at all in my life because having debt means I am owning someone some money and having money in the bank won't seem to be all belong to me. If I have money in the bank and have debt at the same time, I would use that money to pay off the debt as soon as possible. I regard people being debt-free having true freedom in their lives. I am still repaying my student loan and it's going to end by the mid of next year, I just hope to pay it off sooner so that I would have that sense of freedom. Besides, having no debt means I could save more money in my bank account not having to worry that I have to pay certain amount every month to someone.

I am use to having no money in the bank, so I would choose to be out of debt. I pray that I am out of debt sooner than later.

Hi. I think i would much rather have money in the bank because at least i would have something to work with and i could get that debt paid of eventually. I guess it depends on "how much" i'd have in the bank. I would hope to have something left over so i could invest in something worthwhile. :-)
