Hey everyone..just throwing a fun topic out there for all those people who get babysitters for their children. What are some things you expect from your babysitter? Do you allow them to use the computer after the kids are in bed? Do you allow them to fall asleep? What else do you like or not like? Just wondering as I am a babysitter myself!

I think that as long as they are dressed decent, well groomed, don't eat EVERYTHING in the fridge, are puntual, and have the kids in bed by the time they are supposed to be, that they are a pretty good babysitter. P.S. - No swearing :-P

I expect the babysitter to be on time, watch the children, and not have boyfriends over. I allow them to watch tv, eat anything, but not use the computer. They can bring their own to use.

I am trusting someone to watch and care for my children, so that's what I expect them to do. They are not allowed to have friends over, and if they want to talk on the phone, they have to wait until the kids are asleep. I don't allow them on the computer, because my sitters are teenagers, and I can't monitor what they do on the computer. I also expect them to check on the kids once they do go to sleep. I often call to check on how things are going also, while we are out. I think baby sitters need to understand they are caring for children, and should care for them as if they were their own.
