Are You Awake More Than You Sleep?

Sometimes I find myself with not enough hours of the day to complete all the tasks / goals I've set out for that certain day so sometimes I'll stay up really late into the night or really early into the next morning without hardly any rest. On these types of days I'll be awake and doing things for about 19 hours, which is really not healthy at all. I was wondering if anyone else is like this sometimes and stays up longer than they rest? Also just to let you guys know, this doesn't happy all the time, only sometimes. If you stay up really long what are you normally doing: Homework? Housework? A project for your job?

Yes, it does happen to me from time to time. At these times, I'd stay awake for almost 20 hours. Sometimes, it's because I am chatting with friends, other times, it's because I'm playing games with friends. Also, once in a while, it's due to studies. But I try not to stay up too late too often because it would affect my health in the long term.

I have done this on occasion. More so when I was young and in college. I am finding it harder to do as I get older. I can not stay up much past midnight. I still get up early though and so I try not to go to bed too late. If I do then I know that I will be dragging the next day.

I only get about 5-6 hours a night sleep. The only time I get less is when I have to stay up for Girl Scout over nighters. Of course years ago, I could stay up all night and all day, but not anymore!

oh yes, I sleep at around 2am and wake up at about 7am, so that roughly 5 hours of sleep with wake ups in between since I have a 2 year old who still asks for milk in the middle of the night. And with all the things that needs to be done, sometimes I sleep later than 2 and don't get enough sleep at all.

No, I think I am the opposite. I think I sleep more than I'm awake LOL I'm hardly ever awake after 10pm and often don't get up until 9am sometimes a little later (if my son doesnt' wake me up). I sleep more in the weekends too. The only time I'm up past my bedtime until the early hours of the mornings is because I'm on here trying to earn $$, talking to my husband online while he is overseas (time differences) and if I slept or took a nap during the day, then I'm usually wide awake at night.

I think it is about equal when I'm sleeping or when I am awake. I find that I don't have enough time to do everything in one day sometimes.

I use to keep me awake more than i sleep sometimes. As i am a student i use to do it at the times of exams and when there is a lot of homework to do for the college... Apart from that i kept awake when i was doing my project on cpp.I was so addicted that i even started reducing the time used for my food and bed.. Its truly unhealthy to keep awake more.. Most of time we can aviod it by being punctual.. I can aviod some nightouts by just doings my works at the right time.. But iam a little bit lazy... I think everyone in some way or the other use to reduce his sleep for his work.

I'm awake more than asleep. I try not to sleep much because I want to enjoy and live my life the most I can. I get to live once. You gotta live life or else it just passes you by.

you're not alone, man. it happens to me for two months now and i am never happy with that kind of situation. like we're working our bones from morning til night, and we sacrifice our health for the sake of our jobs. oww. honestly, i'm planning to change jobs after a six-months experience. coz this is my first job.

Though with different work,we do share a similar sleep problem. You got to compare and see if there is an higher improvement in your work efficiency. You first must find a balance point between Rest and work. 1.Most importantly ,make water always available at work.It seems to make you want to do no.1 or no.2 job in the middle of your work since being in the restroom could be the most happiest thing sometimes. 2."As the saying goes, all work but no play make jack a dull boy."If you are really too busy to spare EVEN a minute to rest yourself ,then you can strech out to spread yourself, keep some light music on and even cry out and sing in the restroom. 3.Do things in order of importance and difficulty starting from the easiest and most important ones .

Yes, I don't get near enough sleep. I use to sleep excessively but now I can hardly make myself go to sleep. I do tend to go to sleep when riding in a car or watching tv though but when I lay down I'm wide awake.

I am very much like you... I sometimes stay awake for 24hours+ at a time... I just cant seem to be able to sleep sometimes. I can sit and watch tele to try and bore myself to sleep I read a book to strain my eyes to get tired and yet I don't sleep. I don't really do anything of importance when Im awake. Just sit on my computer (yes sometimes on myLot) or I will be doing washing etc in my home. Ive recently managed to get quite a good sleeping pattern. Im asleep by 10.30pm or 11pm on a weekday and get up at7.30-8am which i don't think is too bad. weekends are a different story but I think that is the same for most people who have just turned the legal drinking age! lol

I am awake more then I sleep every night. I know how it feels to not have enough time in the day to do everything and sleep too. Sometimes I wish there were 48 hours in a day then there still wouldn't be enough time. But I am up alot more then I sleep untill my insomnia catches up to me and I can't seem to get out of bed no matter what I try untill I'm cought up on my rest. It sucks, I would like to be able to sleep like a normal person!

I sleep from 5am to about 11am and then the rest of the time I am awake til 5am the next morning but I also work from 1:30am to about 2:45am 6 days a week so if you look at it I am up and running for 11am til 5am the next morning everyday.

Yes now-a days their is so much of work load of office work and sometimes even at home that I didn't able to take my full sleep...I sleep at around 2p.m. in the night and wake up at 8 so it is just a sleep of 6hrs. in a day for me, though on week ends I take my full rest.

Yes definitely! Right now is 5.00 am in the morning and I'm still awake! I usually only spend 4-5 hours sleeping. I believe it was enough for us grown up. Too much works to do left me with no choice but to reduce my sleep!
