My Indian ringnecks

I have a pair of Indian Ringnecks at home, about 18 months old. I haven't caged them. They are allowed to fly all over the house but then, they tend to perch only on strategic places. For a strange reason, they dont fly out of home even when the dorr is opened (touch wood). I have observed that giving them freedom has made them grow healthy compared to a caged parrot I had previously owned. They have even started talking. The problem is, how do I train them? They hardly ever come down except for food which I keep on a table. Are they too old to be trained or can I do something to make them sit on my shoulder and things like that?
