As we go int this journey called life, it is hard not to encounter people who will criticize and look us down. While we have to respect their own opinions, we don't have to get effected of them and let them take over our lives by making their opinions come true.
Nobody is perfect and everybody make mistakes from time to time. However, humans have that ability to change and reform from time to time. That power resides within us -- and only us has that power to use it.
Let us go in our lives as if our critics never exists at all. While we may listen to what they are saying and probably learn a lesson or two, they should not be our guiding light. Our guiding light is that faith within us that someday things will be better, that someday our dreams will come true, that someday we could find the happiness and peace we all want.

Well said! I know most of us, especially me, tend to be concerned with what other people think, but the main thing is to be true to our beliefs.

Nice inspiring message. Too True. There will always be people who will try to peg us down so that they will feel better of themselves, never caring that they are soothing their insecurities by feeding on others'. What is important is that we don't let ourselves carry on the Labelling. Otherwise, if we live true to the bad labels given to us, then it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy where we let the label dictate our thoughts and behaviors, thus our identity.

hello tombiz,
thank you for this discussion - you have written a very good and very enlightening passage. I agree, many people judge, but they are just ignorant. Every individual is different and unique and that is what makes us special. People like different things - and i have experienced enjoying a piece of music or art where others have mocked and then i wondered why they did not like it either. I have realised that my perception was different to them and is ever changing - as is everyone's perception of this world. Some people enjoy the winter, others enjoy the summer - I enjoy the summer and cannot understand those who enjoy the winter and they don't understand why i enjoy the summer either.
I have learnt through my life that what is most important is what we individually like ourselves, instead of worrying whether everybody else likes it.
