Hiring "Rented Items"? Do you enjoy rented items or feel bad due to the fact ...

I had to go to other city accompanying my family. Since it was too hot then in my locality but was very much necessary to travel due to the nature of urgency. I decided to contact "Rent A Car" dealer. It was a brand new car and it rented me a good amount but since the owner was a good friend of my younger brother, it was lower than the usual. While driving a rented new car, like my own, I felt that it is good to enjoy everytime a new car, new model instead of buying ;) lol since it will become older after a few months! Depreciation will definitely be a disadvantage :( But I don't favor the same in all the matters since having the rented items is a bit costly and you remain asset-less after spending a good amount too. How about you people? Do you prefer to enjoy the Rented items? What sort of items you mostly hire? Is it good in all or not?

Yes, Aliasad! Sometimes it seems that you are enjoying the rented items in a way that these are new, nice looking, comfortable but do not forget these are rented too! How much pleasure you have for rented items these can never become yours and will remain the rental. I agree with your next comments that rental is always not right. But if you are in bad need, then go ahead but aviod to make the habit hihihi. I wish you have your own car sooner !

I dislike renting things, from household stuff to cars. I take pride in owning things: car, house, electronics, etc. It is cool that way, I suppose, than to go around in a car that is really not yours. I also find it rather too expensive in the long run to hire something.

Yes, owing a thing is worthy to be proud of. Expense is always there you are right.

I feel the same as you. It is better to buy your own. It is profitable in the long run. I will tell you my experiance. I lived in Bangalore,India, for five years. After almost four years of living in a rented accomodation, I realised that, the amount I am paying to my landlord, is just making him rich. Instead if I taken a apartment on loan, I have to cough up 3000 bucks extra, but that way I would have had a asset, which has no depriciation.

i avoid renting anything at all costs unless i absolutely have to.too many places try to get you for scratches and ticky-tacky stuff that 9 times out of 10 was already on it. even with pictures,a car rental place tried to hit me for a repaint, and another tried to say i didn't fill the tank on return. never again.

I have rented cars in the past and I think they are nice to use. I like the variety of trying out different models. We have also hired extra tables for banquets and parties, and that is handy because itis better o use them temporarily then to have to store them year round for occassional use. The funnest thing we have ever rented was an inflatable boxing ring for my son's birthday party. It wouldn't be something I would want to own, but it was fun to borrow for the day.

well, i don't really enjoy rented items as i think i am wasting my money there and i don't own anything after that... i prefer to buy it if i have the money... but sometimes, we just don't have money and we are forced to rent first while we save our money and purchase it later such as house... we are still renting now but planning to buy one soon...

Well I prefer to buy rather than rent or lease. The only thing I rent is my apartment. I did rent a moving truck to move the last time I moved which was 20 years ago. But that was the last thing I rented. Oh, wait a minute I do rent DVDs from the video store. Thats about it.

I have never rented a car but I have rented some items in my house. But we go to a rent to own place. It costs about two times as much in the end but it will belong to you. If we don't have the money to go buy it, then we rent it. I got my computer that way and my washer and dryer and refridgerator. We plan on getting a new stove this way too.

Yes, it is wonderful when we know other people so that we can hire things for a cheap deal, especially when it comes to renting a car. Yes depreciation is a key and also it is wonderful to be able to drive a new car so that it should not cause the problems that some cars could cause us. But in regards to renting other items we did this with one of our first television sets and in the long run it costs us way too much money so we would not hire any other rented items ever again!!

for me, the only thing i rent are movies on movie rentals and i enjoy it. i dont spend much on cinemas which are so costly. and i prefer rentals than patronizing piracy. i havent experienced renting a csr yet.

Only time I'll rent a car is when someone hits me and my car needs body work done to it. I'll also rent tools and such if I need it but not enough times to be worth buying the item.

If we can't afford to buy things, the best thing to do is to rent. WI can enjoy on rented things!

I had to rent bedroom furniture for my daughter when she came to live with me, but it's from a rent to own place. I hated that I had to do that since I know I will pay a lot more than the furniture is worth in the long run, but I didn't have a choice. The only time I ever had a rental car, my car warranty paid for when my new vehicle went back to the dealer for problems.

It depends on the item and the use of it. A bigger cost item is probably better rented if you only need it for a while. Other items or services that you might use often are probably best to be purchased.

I have rented a car a few times...like when my car was in the garage...it made things alot easier than having to depend on my spouse, co-workers, or friends for those few days... I have also had family fly in to visit and them, rent a vehicle for a short period of time....it works out great! I feel that there will always be a need for car-rental companies.
