What a mess.

I was defrosting my refrigerator/freezer yesterday. I took everything out, ran cold water in the tub, put the perishable things in the tub, and unplugged the refrigerator. Okay, all was well, until the ice started melting. Apparently the water tray below the freezer wasn't very good at catching the melt-off, so by the time it had finished defrosting, the bottom of my refrigerator, along with the floor, were both soaked. Next time, I'll be sure to have loads of towels handy. Have any of you had an experience like this?

Yes, I've had a similar experience and I've learned my lesson well. I keep hand towels, newspapers and even old t-shirts that I don't wear anymore handy whenever I defrost my refrigerator. I also make it a point to unload this small tub at the back of my refrigerator, where quite an amount of water's stored. Always be careful with the plug!

That has never happened to me before.
