I like to eat french fries, eventhough it is bad for your health. Why? because it's deep fried in oil and it is made from potato and lots of things we don't know. Anyway do you know did the French fries got their name? and where it originated?

I love McDonald's French fries only when they come out of the hot killing grease. That is the only fry that is any good and that is the only time they are good. Once they cool down they are not worth eating. I don't like a fat fry any more. When I was a kid you could only get fat fries. So I didn't know that there could be a difference. After all these years I am a coinsurer of French fries. You can learn the history of the french fry at http://www.stim.com/Stim-x/9.2/fries/fries-09.2.html

I LOVE most french fries. Mostly the ones without the seasoning/coating though. I really like chickfila's waffles fries, they are some of my favorites. I eat them often even though I know they are pretty unhealthy.

yeah those chick-fil-A waffle fries are the best. I also like wendy's and mcdonald's fries. I don't like Burger Kings and i don't like seasoned fries or cheese fries or chilli fries or whatever the heck else people put on them.

I don't eat french fries anymore or anything else deep fried or overprocessed. I was turned off from McDonald's fries after watching the movie Supersize Me. French-fried potatoes were probably invented in Belgium during the 18th century, and the name "French" was applied to them in English in the 19th century. The straightforward explanation of the term is that it means 'potatoes fried in the French sense of the verb': 'to fry' can mean either sautéing or deep-fat frying, while its French origin 'frire' unambiguously means deep-frying. In the early 20th century, the term 'French fried' was being used for foods such as onion rings or chicken, apart from potatoes.

I cheat. I make oven fries, but I am not a great potato eater, and I suppose the French invented them, but they probably went through a complicated procedure and called it a fancy name. Also you have to be careful that the potatoes are fried in vegetable oil and not hydrogenated fat.
