Did you do an internship. Was it useful??

summer interships are valuable because they give the intern experience on the job. And experience pays off. studies indicate that people who has done internships are better positioned to get that first job. However, sometimes internships are really a disaster since no attention is paid to the intern, they do stupid work or sometimes they just expoit the intern. What was your experience?
