I started when my sister found a book in her closet. I made some bracelets for my daughter and her friends. One of the parents asked me to make one for them, and then I started buying other books, I found some interesting designs online. I started making them for my friends, and selling them at craft fairs, and now I have a web site where everyone can see, and buy my jewelry. http://www.freewebs.com/suziebdesign/ Check it out, and tell me what you think. I'm always looking for new designs and knots to use.

I used to love to macrame I spent many hours of my youth forming things from knots. then macrame cord became very difficult to find, now you can find it again but it is not so inexpensive as it once was - as with most any article for crafting - the prices have gone through the roof - it is no longer frugal to make things, but considered a novelty entertainment and therefore $$$$$ I see for the jewelry you can use things other than mac. cord. that's good. hemp, jute, cotton thread, string etc.

It is fun to make and wear. I usually buy cord in bulk, and I search the sale bins for beads, charms or other jewelry items I can take apart and use. The only problem I have is when someone ask for something spacific, I can never find the right kind of beads or charms.
