That's a really tough question. If you have been in one particular field of work for a long time, sometimes that will accept experience as the equivilent of education. If I were you, I would get my GED and then take night courses. Employers will also look favorably on ambition and efforts to increase your knowledge/skills.

If you have background in any field often that will make up for not having a diploma or a college degree. What I would suggest though is that in any interview that the lack of diploma comes up, let them know you are going to get one as soon as you are able and that you plan to earn a degree as well. As for career suggestions, you might consider sales because you can make a very lucrative career depending on what you are selling. Degree's and diploma's play less of a factor than performance does. Granted some of the more lucrative fields do recquire licenses (such as real estate) but I doubt it's nothing that you couldn't get with little time and effort. Besides, there is nothing that says you have to jump into selling this or that, it can literally be anything. Believe it or not, you can get a job as an air traffic controller. It usually pays around 100k a year, and degree recquired. Often you are in training for the job for upwards of 6 months, this is a very stressful position, which is why the pay is so good and the recquirements are not as high.

First, sexy_blonde_vamp, WELCOME to myLot....I hope that you come to enjoy your time here. It is a great community to make friends, ask questions, learn and earn a dollar or two. Have you ever thought about going to work in a nursing home as an aide...most of the nursing homes will train you....it pays fairly well. It is a difficult career choice at times but most places do not require a diploma just the completion of the certified nurse aide course....which many nursing homes teach on premises....they will teach you everything you need to know.....it can be a very rewarding job, as well. Just a suggestion, good luck. Tina
