What happened to Britney Spears?

I know there are more theories than Carter has pills, but what do YOU think was Britney Spears' downfall? I'm inclined to believe her true colours simply found their way to the surface and that innocent image that she put forth was a clever publicity campaign and nothing more. Don't get me wrong, I think she has a great voice and I enjoy much of her music, but she so . . . dirty! Thoughts?

I think she just broke down under the pressure after a while. There must be a lot of stress being that famous, and it really seems to have gotten to her. It must suck to go from being a star to a joke in a matter of a few years! I don't think she'll ever get her career back on track now.

Well, if she doesn't, she may take to boiling pet rabbits on stovetops a la Fatal Attraction. Isn't that the next step? Maybe she'll go the Taxi Driver route and become a vigilante! *grin*

I tend to agree with you to a point. I think that by nature, she's basically PWT. When she was younger, it was easier for her image people to cover this up but as she got older and took more control over her career and image, well...what's the old saying about a leopard and its spots? I have to disagree with you about her voice though. I have a feeling that there were a lot of late nights put in by studio engineers to get her voice to sound that "good" for her CD's. Isn't it ironic that Britney used to be the "good" girl and Christina Aguilera was the "bad" girl and that now, it's almost completely the opposite? Not that anyone is saying that Christina is a choir girl, but she's been relatively stable since aquiring fame and tends to stay out of the tabloids. Plus...unlike Britney...that girl has some real pipes. I'm not a fan of that type of music, but that girl can sing her rear end off.

PWT? I've never seen that abbreviated before, but I like it and it's, oh, so apropos. I suppose studio engineering had a lot to do with the quality of her voice on those CDs. Never having seen her in concert, which isn't necessarily any different if she's lip-synching, I can't really say one way or the other, but I'm guessing she's not as good as some imagine her to be. Interesting parallel with Britney and Christina and one that I hadn't thought about before. I'll give you my horns, if you give me your halo!

People have their down falls and Britney Spears had her down fall. She made mistakes, like we all do. The only difference is, she is famous and with that said, that is why her dirty laundry is aired all over the world. I also think the reason for her hitting rock bottom is maybe postpartum, depression and many other things going on in her life. Just a mixure of everything. SOme people can handle their depression and others can't. Britney chose to act out her anger. Oh well... She is only human.

By the way, I see nothing wrong with that picture of Britney Spears. What is so wrong with it. She is kicking back. She seems relaxed. Is she not suppose to have her laid back days?

Yes, too believe all the shaving her head was just a publisity statement in order for her to get more money. Or else she just couldv'e had a mental breakdown, it is hard to tell what happened with her really.

I know. These days you can never be sure. It seems as though every other celebrity is into being extreme, whether it's real or a hoax. At the very least, it's worh a chuckle.

Blah! I don't know what she ever saw in him and, you're right, he certainly didn't help. If the tendencies were there to begin with, he helped bring them to the surface. What a shame . . .
