What we mean when we say we have "respect for workers" says a lot about us. Too many people think that only people with "blue collar" jobs are "workers". Well, what happens if the "white collar" workers don't do their jobs? Does it matter how many widgets the production line can put out, if the marketing people aren't getting the word out? If no one was buying raw materials and parts, would the line workers have anything to do? If no one is keeping track of the finances, would anyone get paid?
The fact is, while the pay and benefits aren't the same, everyone with a job needs to do their job to the best of their ability. So everyone who does their job should be respected.
