Recently I watched a documentary of of someone trying to track down a giant of an animal that walked upright and had foot prints that resembled that of modern man-are there still unidentified man-like creatures out there in the wild?

Good question, people have been trying to answer that one for a few hundred years. All over the United States there are statues, drawings and stories of a large ape like creature that date back hundreds of years. Yet no bones or reliable evidence has ever been found. I would never say it's impossible but I think it's highly unlikely that they exist. The closest creature of which evidence has been found that could possibly substantiate any claim to the stories would be Gigantopithicus. But as far as current fossil records dictate they only lived in China, India and Vietnam area. They supposedly went extinct 100,000 yrs ago. There are a lot of documentaries out about "Bigfoot" and I've seen most of them. Personally I haven't seen anything that I would call definitive evidence that a giant ape lives in North America or any other part of the world. Just a lot of people who thought they saw a large creature walking upright and heard lots of strange sounds. I find it very funny that most of the recordings I've heard that are supposed to be of "Bigfoot" sound an awful lot like the same sounds that Elk, Wolves, Bears, Big Horned Sheep and Mountain Lions make. I've spent a lot of time in the Rocky Mountains so I've heard the exact same sounds many times. I never heard anything that I couldn't identify, but for someone who didn't recognize the sounds they would be pretty strange and scary. If they ever do find a body or capture one alive, no one would be happier than me but I just don't think it's ever going to happen.
