at least for me. Whenever I go back to the Philippines the first thing I do after leaving the airport is to eat halo-halo from chowking. Do you have other preference?

i must agree that its delicious..but having it home made, or having yourself do it is even better..because you'll have whatever you want on that halo-halo.. i like garbanzos and whenever we make some halo-halo during summer i add lots of it till i get bloated..hehe^_^

Based on what I have tasted from food chains here in the city I liked Chowking. But I usually do make them at home where I can add anything I want in my halo-halo and can enjoy as much as I want. But there are some small stores who sells cheap halo-halo and tastes good as well.

It's true, home-made is still the best. When chowking first set up the super fiesta halo-halo was only 35 pesos but now it's 100 times more, right? But still people patronize their halo-halo. I like it because no one fast-food chain is monopolizing the industry. Jolibee is famous for their chicken, halo-halo is for chowking and etc, etc.

They used to put sweetcorn too but now they have discontinued it. I also love the macapuno and yes of course the ice cream topping and the leche flan.

I have no against with chowking Halo-halo but base on what I remember when the last time I ate halo-halo in chowking. I can safely say that many home made halo-halo can turn down Chowking in more affordable price. Halo-halo is a part of culture in the Philippines so almost everyone knows how to prepare it with passion indeed. Some ingredients are not included in Chowking or even if included the preparation was not as good as home made ingredients. Because Chowking Halo-halo is done for business, usually the passion for making it has gone not like in the home made where almost every ingredients is being done with passion of the maker. I love ube and nata de coco, a lots of them for halo-halo makes my day sweet.

You're right. as what I've mentioned to my previous comment, home made halo-halo can even surpass chowking. I know I can if I give it a try. I love ube and nata too, I also love the saba.

You're right Chowking halo-halo is the best. I am a Filipino and I am proud to recommend the special halo-halo here in the philippines and one of the bests halo-halo makers I've knew is Chowking. I like leche plan that they put in it very delicious, and also sweetened jackfruit or commonly call "langka" here in the philippines and sweetened banana also. Ube and macapuno..hmmm I'm starting craving for halo-halo!...

Except that they have doubled the price since they opened their restaurant in 1993. The Super fiesta was only 35 pesos then and it had more ingredients than now.

i disagree. have you tried iceberg? for non-filipinos, halo-halo means variety. it's our summer quencher delicasies. it's crushed ice with everything in it, such as:sliced banana, some plumb, yams, and fruit beans,beaten-egg cake and you could put cherry on top and pour in half a vup of evaporated milk.i know it is kinda wierd but it is very delicious.try it out with your own ingredients just as long the crushed ice, sugar and milk are the basic ingredients.

You know what? I am going to tell you the best halo-halo I've tasted so far and you MUST try it! It's at Razon's of Guagua. They have branches at Julia Vargas, Ortigas, and also in Galleria. I'm not so sure about the aother areas though. This halo-halo tastes just right and creamy, but its not tooo overly delicious, if you know what I mean about others that have too much toppings on them (including Cowking-- sorry). Razon's halo-halo consists of only macapuno, sweet bananas, and leche flan, and of course the milk. That's it! But I love it! :)

I think I've heard about it. The thing is it's not everywhere that's why only people have tasted it. I might try it one day. thank for the lead.

OH, why did you stop? I believe it's a good idea for extra income. Everybody loves to eat halo-halo even if it's homemade. I'm sure some home-made can even surpass chowking.
