My friend had a house taken from her because she couldnt make payments. mortgagee sale! Her mother ( an invalid) had moved in with my friend. The mother had paid $15000 to install carpet and a shower. When the house came up for a mortgagee sale, my friends mum asked if they would reinburse the $15000 for the carpet and shower. There was no written contract, just word of mouth from both people. The agreement was that she was going to be reinbursed. It never happened. Im really searching for an answer to help my friend and her money. Can anyone out there help me!

Since she did not have anything in writing and she can not prove the agreement (she may be able to file somtehitng in small claims, but she will not get anywhere near the amount she paid out), she probably will not re-coop her loses. I could not find any information either way regarding this, but I have never heard of any being reimbursed for any household items that were in a foreclosed home. Who made this agreement with her?
