Is atheism a way to escape from responsabilities of religions?

Is atheism a way to escape from responsabilities of religions and enjoy the life?moreover why most of the atheist people live in rich countries? why atheist people are mostly the ones who do not have economical , financial,social problems? why they are mostly the ones who live in Europe,America or Australia?

I think atheism in a way requires more responsibility because you have to make your own decisions, and answer to yourself rather than having a set of rules to follow. It requires actually considering what you're doing and why. I've known a lot of atheists who were actually very moral people.
I do think that many people who are atheist are those who don't depend on social ties that are often held together by religious bonds. Many of them are well-educated people who decided after much learning and considering that they couldn't accept what religions were telling them. As for where they live, I think in some countries religious freedom is more rampant, and of course those countries would have a higher share of atheists because people would feel more allowed to question religion.
Reading this, I wonder if people will think I'm atheist, which I'm not. =p
