We've already had our share of tornadoes this year. They have been popping up all around us in Texas. Just last week 10 people were killed in Eagle Pass, Texas from violent storms.
Last night we had tornadoes around us again. High winds, hail and lots of rain. We watched the lightning show in the night skies from our patio.
Do you have tornadoes where you live? Do you know what you would do if you had a tornado touch down? Are you prepared for such a storm?

They are so fascinating but so dangerous. Even the lightning scares me sometimes. Seems like we have a threat of tornadic weather all this week. Weird huh?

Yeah, threat of thunderstorms all week here too. I love to watch storms, but when there are tornadoes or hail involved, I can't take the time to just sit and enjoy them! You might like to read the article I wrote about it here: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/130714/the_beauty_of_a_thunderstorm.html

There is some crazy weather going around in Texas. I hope you will stay safe, Terrilee.
What do you do in a tornado? What can you do?
I don't really know what causes tornadoes. A large land mass? I have seen them on the TV and they look bad. I always feel bad for those people who have lost their homes and some have lost their lives. That is always sad.
We don't tend to have tornadoes here in the UK, but we did have one last year. It affected Birmingham which is in the Midlands. Not where I am. Lots of roofs came off. We had a couple of hurricanes too last winter. They were not real bad ones like you get in the States, but they did cause a lot of damage.
Stay safe. Kindest regards.

Thank you feliniti. What do we do? We pray a lot and watch the skies. After you've lived through so many you learn to recognize the signs. The clouds and the wind tell us what it will do and basically how far it is away from us.
If one happens to get too close, we put our mattress and covers inside the center of the house, away from glass and debris and hope for the best.
Most people have storm shelters or cellars in this area but there are a lot of people who don't have them, so the most enterior space inside is where you have to be.
It get scarey sometimes but Thank God, we haven't had to face a direct hit.

I have heard about the tornedos in Texas. Take care. I live in Northen India. Here the weather is quite hot. It reaches up to 46 to 47 degree celsius in summers and in winters it gets down to about 1 or 2 degree celsius. Talking about stroms, we do have our share of those but they are not so frequent here.
