Och, what do I do? My cat, a year and a half, is starting to bug me at night. When I am asleep, she starts playfully scratching and biting. What is wrong suddenly with her?

Maybe shes hungry or just wants to play with you.LOL I remember that age and they are quite playful. They have all this energy so they have to do something.LOL Hang in there.

I understand the part of being kept up at night, because my 6th month old is always so hyper at night and eager to play. But I don't know why your cat has just started doing that. Do you spend enough time with her, or as much as you used to? Maybe now she's feeling lonely, for some reason, and just wants to play. Just remember to be patient with her, especially when you don't know what's really wrong. Good luck!

Spring fever???? Our little kitty that is about 7-8 months old just decided to go into her first real heat last night. She's had day heats, with really mild symptoms, but this is the full on deal this time. She is lovey, bitey, rubbing and rolling on the carpet, the dogs, the other cat. She meows like she is in such pain. It is a pain. Could it be your kitty is in heat too. I've got to get this little one fixed now, lol.

Did you start feeding her later in the evening?? Your cat is still young and has a lot of energy. When you feed her she is going to get a lot of energy from food. I always make sure to feed my kitten more in the morning than at night so I can give him a smaller dinner. This way, he isn't up all night. Also, I make sure I dig his balls out from under the couch in the evening so he plays before we go to bed and tires himself out. And if he still wants to play, he still has something to play with instead of our bodies. He also has a cat toy, a feather on a stick that I stick in the door of the cubbard so it hangs out and he chases that.

Maybe she needs a bit more attention during the day. My cats have never dones this directly. Usually one will sleep with me and cause no problmes. The other sleeps in another room. Maybe cats go through cycles and like changing their habits from time to time. You might take him/her to a catologist (lol) for a thurough psychological examination. I am sure there is a pill that will either fix you or the cat...lol.

I'm not an expert on cats - nor have I ever had one as a pet, but I'll try to help. I think what might be happening is that she's feeling lonley. Have you suddenly - for whatever reson - started spending less time with her during the day? So she's trying to get your attention when you don't seem to be doing much (to her at least). Either that or: have her eating habits changed? Is she suddenly becoming more hungry at night? If none of these things seem to help, you could always put her in another room while you sleep. Hope I could help :)

I think she just wants your company. This is the reason I close my bedroom door at night and don't allow my cat in the bedroom while I'm sleeping. If I did, I'd never get any sleep.

Yep ~ I have to agree that she may be in heat. If that's the case, get her fixed. It actually will improve her health ~ reducing chances of getting cancer, I think. And her fussing at night will stop. It seems to make them more relaxed & much less hyper. My kitty "Rainbow" is just under a year old. She went into heat and was trying to "marry" anything in sight: our other cats ~ male *Or* female, my husband, the couch, you name it! She was climbing up the curtains in the living room ~ no joke! She was a basket case! We got her fixed ~ and now she's pretty laid back. It was like a total personality change ~ for the better. She still plays & has fun ~ but no more trying to Marry anything that moves ~ or the couch. ;) More peaceful kitty, more peaceful household. Get her fixed. You'll be glad you did. :)

Cats get this thing that some people call the "night time crazies" For the most part cats are more nocturnal animals. They prefer to sleep the day away and then do all their "hunting" at night. Just like they would in the wild. There is nothing wrong with your cat, she just has a burst of energy and wants you to play with her. Try spending more time with her during the day. . exercise with cat toys and if she's sleeping, encourage her to wake up and play. She'll probably be more tired at night time.
