It does work - I've done that many times. Some other vinegar ideas are to use white vinegar in place of liquid fabric softener in the washing machine. When I'm washing new clothes for the first time, I make sure to add a cup of vinegar. That helps stop the color from running and keeps it brighter longer. I also mix some vinegar in with the shampoo mixture in the carpet shampooer. It's great for cleaning and getting of pet odors. I like using it better than the shampoo you get for pet odors.

I know you can use it in your final rinse when washing nappies. It deodorizes and neutralizes the pH. Great stuff. I did wonder about floors too! Thanks
