Do you get nervous calling in sick?

Yesterday I woke up suffering from the flu that I suddenly came down with early Sunday morning. I had a shower, got dressed, packed my lunch and then caught the bus to work. I got to work, tried working for an hour and a half and after the third invoice I couldn't understand and screwed up (and this is second nature to me!) I got fed up and told me boss I was going home for the rest of the day.
I just HATE calling in sick, though. I always worry that my employer just thinks I'm playing hooky when in reality I'll usually work even when I am feeling ill just because I know there's too much to be done.
Is anyone else the same way? Do you get nervous calling in sick thinking your boss thinks you're trying to pull a fast one?

I would never feel guilty calling in sick because I know it would be better for me to stay home and take care of myself. After all, the job can carry on without me. Always remember you are replaceable and getting ill is just part of being human. Your boss is human and shouldn't thin you're pulling a fasr one. Remember, you come first.

Yes anytime I have ever had a job this is how I have felt when I had to call in . I hated having to call in because I was always nervous they would think I wasn't really sick as so many people call in sick all the time for no reason . I will go to work when I am not feeling well and hate asking for time off but anytime I have ever called it , it has made me sick to my stomach until after I got the call out of the way .

I drag myself to work when I don't feel well as I hate to let them down. People around here abuse our sick days so much that nobody is believed when they call in sick. I have to be pretty sick to call in.
