No Gas on May 15th

There is an email going around asking everyone to boycott gas stations on May 15th of this year. This has been attempted every year since the original boycott was planned in 1999. A one day boycott will make them notice, but if you buy gas the day before or the day after, does it do any good???
Do you think something like this will work? what other actions are there that we can do to bring down the price of gas and to show them we are serious about it?

The idea has good intentions but doesn't hit them bad enough because not everyone is able to do it . In our area we don't have the gas stations that they are always suggesting be boycotted as they are trying to hit the bigger gas stations and we have none of them in our area . Also there are people who just don't care and get their gas anyway . If enough people would agree to do this then maybe it would have some effect , but each year it doesn't affect them enough to stop .
I'm not sure of any other idea that we could try to get the price of gas to stop going up but eventually if it keeps raising the way it has been in the last couple of years , there won't be much to worry about as we just won't be able to afford to travel . It will only be the rich who will be able to afford the price of gas . And all us littler guys will be the one's that it is going to hurt .

This is a great idea. I read about this from a friend of mine on Gather. It is a great idea getting it out there on the internet. Maybe this will expand beyond the United States of America, and people all over the world will boycott gas. Prices in Canada could stand to drop too, in my opinion.
