what's gender got to do with work ???

PEOPLE, YOU MUST HAVE NOTICED.... when we fill, up a form like an addmission form or even apply for a job WE ARE OFTEN ASKED ABOUT OUE GENDER.... I MEAN MALE OR FEMALE???(MOROVER THERE IS NO OPTION FOR OTHERS) I wonder why?? Does it really matter what we are in terms of gender.... I belive sensuality is somthng very personal and should not be taken into account when it comes to work place ... A WORK NEVER HAS A TAG PUT ON IT "MAN OR A WOMAN" SO WHY IS THIS IRRELEVANT QUESTION????
