How to learn basic computer tutorial free from home?

I am a senior citizen and have a very limited knowledge of computer like opening a file, surfing internet and sending mails. If I am stuck up any where, I do not how to solve the problem and should be behind children, who visit me now and then, to solve the problem. I heard there is no specific course to teach basic computer handling like how to scan, etc. Can any one tell me where can I learn these things online?

So kind of you Samson. I will do that. Even for opening this discussion, I tried to put Computer photo. Brought computer photo to desktop, my documents. Then filled up upload details. Still it says error in uploading the photo. After struggling for half-an-hour, I left uploading photo. In your busy schedule, you have agreed to help me, thank you my son.
