i am used to giving alms to street children or street people... for me, doing this is helping them to buy their needs specifically food. these people are homeless and no money to buy food... but i do hear some people will say that giving them money will just make them lazy...

It could be that giving alms to the poor just makes them lazy. In the Philippines, many poor people are begging for money on public places. I think they should be given job opportunities and not money except if they are really disabled. I believe that they should be taught how to fish to have fish rather than teaching them how to have fish without having to fish. For me, the government should have more livelihood projects for them to learn to earn money on their own. [[Giving alms to poor working people is also okay but it should not be too much]]

well, i agree on you... im also from philippines and as we see, these people are everywhere. they're just seemed so hopeless. ideally, there should be more livelihood projects but maybe the government's not giving them more attention(just my own idea) bcoz since i was a child, they already exist...
