This is a movie I will keep forever. Jack Nicholson is only actor suit to this movie, he did the best just like what he acted in Shinning. Acting as the man with mental problem or sensitive person. The mental institution is just a dark jail where not the people witht the real mental problem were locked but the people who are not follow the main stream of the society. I do like the part where all of them escaped the intituation and enjoy on a boat. It is silimar to the what in the famouse The Shawshank Redemption, where Andy won the beers for the prisoners by helping the warden on his tax formula. I like this feeling, I like the way to enjoy meself under the bad situation.

I also love this movie and think Jack Nicholson is one of the best actors ever I love his films. You must remember though the character in this film is a bad man, he is a rapist that point is dumbed down in the film but in the book it's made very clear. He also isn't mentally ill (well he's a suspected psychopath) he just thinks he can avoid prison by pretending to be, and in the end is given a lobotomy because he tries to kill a nurse. Though she's evil to the patients in both the book and the film it was the way the whole mental health service treated people in America (and indeed elsewhere) in those days they really thought they were helping people. Ken Kesey (who wrote the book) saw things like this first hand as he was a janitor in a mental institution, if you haven't read it I really recommend it there's only so much they could show in the film the book is better.

The movie is simply amazing - its entertaining and touching at the same time. It actually is a political film - its about defying the authority of a tyrant; and here the tryrant is personified by nurse Ratchet.
