Do you also earn for every response to discussions you've started?

Pardon me for being so ignorant in my over a month of being here at myLot. But when my friend who is now interested to join in asked that question, I didn't know what to say! I just know that one can earn by responding to discussions and by starting one too. But I am not sure if one also earns for every response that he/she gets. I tried searching on myLot FAQs but I can't seem to find the answer. Please help! Thanks!!!:p

The Admin constantly improves the algorithm and several things are unconfirmed ,but from my personal experiences I feel that we do get paid for the responses our discussions receive. However, the rewards of responses to our discussions are less when compared to the responses we type to other's discussions. This is probably so because we have to put in more thought and effort to type in a response than to get several responses to our discussion.

hello, bluewings. i have encountered some discussions to this effect around here already. always, they say that the best way to earn here will be to post a discussion or two only in a day, then make a string of so many responses. this is the best way to get the earnings high fast and the points, too. so i agree with your observation which is geard unto this one kind of thinking.

I agree ,Velasco.Posting one or two discussions is a good way to earn if you have enough friends on the site.Responding to friends discussions assures you responses from them when you post one. So,I feel, striking a balance between the discussions and responses one posts is the right way.

I see that you are in the States though I am not aware of your time zone.Sometimes, we get credited for the responses our discussions receive a day after they are posted depending on the time zone.Personally,my earnings increased even without making a single post but receiving responses to my discussions.

Hi Amielle! I think yes, but I'm not sure ha. I read it in some discussions here in mylot. Just tell your friend not to worry too much. Give Mylot a try and she/he eventually will know about it. Mylot is always such a fun learning process..Have a great day Amielle! (^^,)

WELL amielle i am not sure about this thing as i never noticed that because the responses are generally short in that case so i think that it might not be any earning from responding to our own discussion but i am not sure because when ever we reply in our own discussion to any other member we et our point increased and if that is the case than we might also earn some what from responding.Keep replying amielle well can i call you as "ami"

there is no definite answer to this discussion. the pay we get from mylot just come out at the screen after the day's update. how these are being computed has never been revealed to us in black and white. i believe that we get paid for it, too, but the earnings will not be as much as our posted responses. i believe that mylot works in a manner wherein, we are better appreciated if we post a few discussion of our own, say one or two in a day or so, then make lots and lots of responses. this has been the observation of other users in here, too. we get more earnings if we post many responses and post only one discussion in a day. in fact, there are days when i do not post a discussion of my own. i just make responses when my friends have lined up so many already.

Okay, so now I know that making responses can add more to your earnings. Thanks again for the help! :p

There are so many contradictory comments surrounding this issue and even MyLot is not very clear about it. But I doubt it, because, by now I should have made thousands! lol

And that would be great! :p You're right, myLot didn't really tackle this topic on their guidelines and I didn't bother to ask them anymore too because when I brought another issue to them once, they just answered me with a one-liner leaving me still dazed. Anyways, thanks Annie! Good to hear from you again! :p

I guess every response that you get for your discussion gives you a cent, i am sure as on my first day on mylot i done some calculations and found out i was getting 2 cents for my every response and one cent for the responses i get, its just probability but one this is for sure that you do get credited for the responses you get, thats why some people you can see with not many responses but still reached their several payout just because of the responses they got for their discussion almost more than 50 per discussion.

Thanks brainteaser, for the info! :p

I was told that we need to recieve over ten responses to a discussion to get paid for them! I don't know if that is true or not. That is why I tend to repond more than post discussions! I hope your friend joins! I'm sure once you get her on here she will be hppked!

I have the same question. I really like talking to the people on here but lets face it we all want to make some extra dough. Right? I don't think this is a silly question at all. All I know is that yesterday I responded to two post and now I have an extra two cents! Not much but it's better that what I had before.
