Would you drive a yellow cab- for personal use?

Sometimes people buy cars at auction like police cruisers and cabs for their personal use. I have the option of some hefty priced repairs to my car or to pull my fabulous engine and place it in a yellow cab that has a loose bearing in the engine. the cab has had meticulous care- we know who had it, and like my old bomb- its alincoln towncar, and its a few years newer than mine and -I have always hated mine.Everything is wrong with it. Si ot would be good riddance, but a big shiney yellow cab??? I should be used to the soft ripple of snickers that trail behind me-LOLbut am I gutsy enough for this? Would you be?PS the thing is it would give me a workable new car for $500.

Aside from the fact that people will probably try to get in your car when you stop, I think it sounds like a good idea. Where else would you get a car that runs well for $500? My opinion, just do it! You can always save up for a paint job later. And make sure you keep ALL of your doors locked before you venture out for a road trip.

At least if you ever needed to, you could use it to make some extra money. Actually, that wouldn't be such a bad idea...use it on your days off to pick up fares to save for the new paint job!! *LoL*

That's not a bad idea- as a matter of fact. I work with a bunch of partiers- I can let them know I'll get them home safely. So if I get stopped for illegal taxi-ing I can just say I'm the dsignated driver. Ha!

That's a comic visual. Yeah I know-they'll probably think its personal when I wave them away, too. I'm for it.I think there's so much right about the idea I can't say no- but the paint job is going to be very welcome- when I can get it.

Believe it or not, I knew the owner of a cab company who had his yellow cab customised, and returned to it's classic black finish... it sort of looks like London cabs... not bad at all... he had the interior done up in leather and suede with wood trim... Hey, Lady A, you might be able to pick up a few bucks to get this done by leaving your cab just they way it is for couple of months... you know, picking up fares and all...LOL! :)

Listen - I can't afford a spray can of black paint much less customizing-whoo.Otherwise - hmm. You're prodigal thought about fares- yeah right. good one. the way my luck is going- I would risk it. Anyway that's illegal here. You have to purchase the right to pick up fares. Even the jitneys. Here you are being all artistic and positive and sh*t. I'm having a bad day here. I need pharmaceuticals. I need kleenex. I need tea and sympathy. I need some good laughs. so to answer my question-would you drive a big honkin yello cab???

I wouldn't drive any vehicle that wasn't black! :) I don't have a desire to be any more visible on the road than I have to be these days! :) I hope you day gets better, too... I'm having tea, but I don't need sympathy, just a good walk. I just finished writing a very funny story, and when I stop laughing, I'd like to PM you a copy.

I don't think I'd drive a Yellow Cab for my personal use. Unless, of course, I am a Taxi Driver. I think those will get people confused a lot, and also... I don't want to say that I have a cab as my ride. Again, the only exception for me is if I am a Taxi Driver!

Yep- that's the smart attitude. I'''m not feeling great about it, but grateful to have a car that works available to me. My windows have been reparied but they still don't stay on track, the ac and heat don't work, augh, and the seat doesn't slide back far enough, and there's a harmless knock that alrms my passengers when I have any. So the cab ha none of these problems. What's more my cd player in the car has finally quit working. Radio music and chat yuck! So- in a lot of ways the cab is a good choice-just big, yellow and all that.
