Teething is the most tough stage of developmental milestone of a baby, is there any standard for when teething will begin & how long will it take for the first tooth to arrive?
My baby is exactly 11 months old and till now we're all worried for when will be the first tooth to arrive, will it take as late as a year?

Every baby is different. I thought my daughter was teething since she was 4 months old but she didn't get her first tooth until she was 9 months. It's just really hard to tell. If you are concerned about it I would talk to your babies pediatrician at your next visit. But I don't think you really have anything to be concerned about yet. All babies get their teeth at different ages. My friend has a baby that is 8 days younger than my daughter. He had 10 teeth by the time he was a year old and my daughter only had 3. So I don't really think there is a standard time for when teeth come in.

Hi cynddvs,I ask my pediatrician about it and he advices me to give my child a teether. But the problem is, my daughter doesn't want to bite her teether. With this, I would let her eat biscuits, banana, bread and some healthy snacks just to alleviate the pain of her gum.Till then, thanks a lot.

It could be AFTER a year that your child gets their first tooth - my daughter was teething at 4 months but her first tooth didn't come through until around 8 months so it can take a fair while & i'm sure everyone has already mentioned the fact that every child is different - so there are no standards for when teething will start or when the first tooth will appear.
My daughter got her bottom 2 front teeth 1 week apart & then it took another 2 months or so before a top one came through she had both front, top teeth about a week apart as well.
Just give it time & make sure you have some kind of pain relief available coz it is a very painful time for them.

Hi there Eunixia.....Its hard to say for each child is so different, I have heard though that the later your your baby teeth the better (stronger) You can try some different things cold teether, or a good baby toy that he/she could munch on. I wouldn't worry to much for they will soon come. You will have to keep me posted on how the little is doing! Best of luck to you all

Good to hear from you again stacy624, yes I learned from my parents that later the teeth it's much better and stronger. My baby wanted her stuffed toys and pillows to munch, I don't give her plastic toys. She's fun playing with those stuff. Thanks a lot. Blessing always.
Till then,
