far apart from your wife/husband!

My hubby is in Hawaii and Iam in Philippines...he only gets to come and visit me every 6 months. It may take me a while to go there and he wants to retire first before he will stay in Philippines for good(that would be 15 years from now!) I really hate it and makes me miss him. We are planning to have a baby and I dont know if I could handle this by myself here. Any advice would be nice. Are you and your partner apart from each other now? How did you handle it? If your not married yet, would you like the idea of being apart for quite a long time?...what if his work would make you apart?
