If you are in a cold apartment with no heat at all what do you do to keep you

We spent the entire winter without heat in our apartment. We couldnt afford to pay the bill. Luckily we are in a basement apartment and it wasnt bone chilling cold. The heat from the other apartments helped to keep ours bareable. I also cooked our meals in the oven alot that helped to heat up the apartment. We kept the bedroom doors closed and that helped too.

I have not had this problem for several years. When I was younger I had a small house and could barely afford the rent. Instead of turning on the furnace I would go to bed at an unusually early time and watch tv there. It was a heated waterbed so it kept me nice and warm. It was a rude awakening to get out of that warm bed and get dressed for work the next day though!
