I'm not much aware of Kosher, but I know that it's a food that satisfies the Jewish laws.
According to my belief there are some restrictions in eating slaughtered animals, should be slaughtered in the God's name, We can eat food obtained from anywhere but the the meat should to be according to the rules, we call it as 'halal meat' ;), If such food is not available we can eat Kosher.
Jewish people are less in the world, there is no Jewish people in my native place, I heard that there were some Jewish people in Kerala South-India, and now it's hard to find. I think you belongs to Jewish, nice to meet you here.

Yea, I agree that most of later religions and ideologies are formed about or after the Jewish era.
The development of mankind also a big factor in it, clear written histories are not known much before that.

Actually I am not Jewish but have always been very curious about Judaism. A friend of mine sent me an article on the subject with a link www.jewfaq.org. Just this morning I was checking out the 613 mizvot. Wow, it seems to be very complicated to keep a kosher house. I understand about the separate dishes, utensils, pots and teatowels but it seems the dishwasher presents a problem. Do you run it twice? Once with milk dishes and once with meat dishes and where do the neutral dishes fit in?
A lot of my friends are reformed Jews. They don't keep a kosher house generally but they always observe the Shabbat meal on Friday night and they celebrate the High Holidays. How about you?

Well you right the dishwasher is a problem. I don't have one so I don't have the problem! lol
YOU ask the Rabbi and you do what he decides is best. I have heard if it has a metal or ceramic bottom you can wash them together but otherwise you must not.
I keep a kosher house, and I try to eat kosher when I go out but if I go to a friends house and they make me a meal I eat it without making a scene. (which usually doesn't happen, however I went to my friends for dinner ans she forgot and made a dinner with shrimp it, I simply pulled them out and ate the rest, she happily took my shrimps for herself) lol.
