Songwriting

Are there any songwriters here on MyLot? If you are a songwriter, what kind of songs do you write? Happy ones? Sad ones? Love songs? I've never written a song myself, but I do have offline friends in musical bands. Would you ever join a band? I don't know if I would enjoy songwriting, because I'm not a big fan of writing poetry. What about you all?

Hi there! I write songs with my husband. He plays the guitar and I write the lyrics. The songs that we compose varies. There are happy and sad songs but most of them are inspirational songs.

Honestly Im a big fan of both. I dont really compare writing poetry and songs because poetry is more free versed while music you follow a format for songs. I've written hundreds of songs and even produced a bunch...http://www.myspace.com/fammusicinc

I do have some offline friends doing it as well, especially on high school quite a bunch were part of bands. Myself I won't be able to do a lot of good when it comes to songwriting I'm afraid, I just don't have the right touch for it.
Some I know though are quite good at it if I must say so myself, although then the problem of course always is to find someone who can sing it good as well.
