For those of you that use a washer and dryer to clean your clothes, how often do you clean out your dryer's lint trap? After every cycle? Or do you let it lapse a bit? Me, I usually clean it out every 2-3 cycles. Gross? Maybe. But as there isn't usually enough collect before this, I do it this way. How about you?

I open it and check it before I put a load of laundry into the dryer. If it's moderately linty or gross I clean it out. If its only a little bit i'll just leave it. I had a friend that didn't realize she was supposed to clean it, and when I went to look there was enough lint in there that I could roll it into a ball the size of a grapefruit. Now that was gross! Every 2-3 cycles is not bad. Unless its a load of towels and it builds up lots of lint, usually it's probably every 2 to 3 for me as well. I dont see the point in emptying it if it's just a little fuzz!!

I clean it after every use. Keeping the lint trap clean on your dryer helps it to work better and use less electricity.

I clean it out when there is enough to grab. Which usually is every other cycle unless it is a big load like towels. If I don't clean the lent out then the clothes wont dry.

Clean mine every time I run a load, there is usually enough to warrent cleaning but just force of habit I guess - drier works much better when the filter is clean and saves energy (that tip came from my electric company).
