Do you ever get depressed?Sometimes when you just dont feel like being bothered?

My friend came over yesterday and I didn't answer the door because I was feeling kinda down for some reason.Later I felt real bad. When I called her this morning she seemed to have an attitude.Do you ever get like this? What lifts you up when you are feeling down. Now I wished I had opened the door because she probably could have lifted my spirits up.

Every now and then I feel down, that's when I have to fight the spirit of depression and pray and think about His goodness. I listen to uplifting gospel music and I can't help but to get in a better mood. This should be uplifting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7MDP9ZgsuI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juSz4wRgxLM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYa5MY3MRXc

Also, your friend might not have understood what was going on with you, maybe she felt the same way you did that day and needed someone to talk to. When you feel like it maybe you should call her and tell her that you just needed time alone and did not want to be bothered. She will understand if she is your friend.

Thank you. When I had called her yesterday she cut the conversation short and seemed to have an attitude. She is a good friend we have been friends since kids and now we are in our 30's.I would hate to loose a friend over something so simple.I prolly will call her when she gets off work today.

I completely understand, I do the same thing all the time. there are times I just dont want to be bothered with anyone. I will let my voicemail pick up all my phonecalls, and will go back and check messages when I am in the mood. We all need time to ourselves. Obviously you got over whatever was bothering you, your friend should understand that we all need time to ourselves.

Its really wonderful to have friends like that.I have one and we've been friends over 10 years now and whatever mood im in he will put a smile on face regardless of what it is.I was feeling so down that I did not even want my phone on,so my ringers were off.He is out of town ryt now so he got worried and called my job that night.I told him what was wrong and he did cheer me up.

well sometimes we need rest but when depresed its better to allow visitor because it might be the visitor that will lift you up. also the way we feel, mostly bad, should not afffect the way we relate to another person cause impression(s) do last.

One of the symptoms of depression is loss of enjoyment in activities you used to enjoy. I guess I've never been depressed because although I havent felt like doing something I enjoy before, I never lost enjoyment in EVERYTHING that I usually enjoy. I know thats worded a little oddly but I hope it made sense.

Yes, lately I have gotten like that a lot. I feel like I am in a deep hole sometimes and I just want everyone to leave me alone, except for my husband and I want him to be here for me. You are right about friends sometimes being able to lift your spirits when you are feeling down and I am sure they get hurt if they are pretty sure you are there and you don't answer the door. Some of my husbands family came over today and we went to our property in the country and picked mangos. I felt better after getting out of the house and changing scenery for a little while. Doing something different than the day to day things is what helps lift my spirits and trying to focus on the positive things in my life instead of the negative thing helps lift me out of my depression as well.

I know exactly how you feel. There are times when I just do not feel like being bothered and just want some ME time. There is nothing wrong with that and if she is your friend then she should understand. If it is not personal toward her then she should not be offended and take it personally.

Don't worry about it, if she's a real friend she'll understand. I think we all have days like that. And we all have times when we just want to be alone. I get that way sometimes. I just want to close all the doors & windows and sleep or just hide out. When I am feeling down, I usually turn on the radio, listen to some oldies from my favorite era, and dance & sing all over the house. It always makes me feel better to listen to old songs and remember. Music just has that effect on me.

I feel like this sometimes. My doctor told me exercise would help because it evens out something to make you feel less depressed. Sometimes I don't even feel like getting out of bed.
