My son is 13 months old and has no interest in walking. He mainly crawls. He has took steps for other people. Does he just wanna be mean to me? lol. I know he is just holding out on me. I think its funny he walks for other people and not me. How old were your kids when they walked? My daughter walked at 10 months and my middle son walked at 11 months.

my oldest was walking at 10 months and my littlest one is 13 months and just started walking last week! she doesnt walk that much though she does prefer to crawl i think it is just because she is a fast little crawler and can get places quicker so thats why she crawls more, she does walk some but not much compared to the amount of time she is crawling. he will walk soon though especially by watching his older siblings walking and running he will want to do the same

My son is 15 months old. He can walk, but he prefers to crawl. Today he was walking around for a little while with one car in each hand. Then he put them down and played with them and spent the rest of the day crawling. He has no trouble standing, and squatting from a standing position without holding onto anything, so I'm sure he would be perfectly capable of walking anywhere he wanted to. I think that the reason that he isn't walking more might be because of the dogs. He sees them down on all fours, and is constantly chasing them. Maybe it makes more sense for him to be on all fours, too? I'm not sure. That's just one theory on it. Another reason he might be doing it is because he crawls so fast!

my daughter didn't walk until she was around 15 months old. i was starting to get really frustrated then. but when she finally took a few steps on her own, i was ecstatic! good thing, i had the video cam on standby. we were able to video it.

I really wish we had a video cam, I would love to look back and see my kids at this age when I'm an old lady!

My older daughter was running by her first birthday. It drove me nuts to chase her all over the place. *LoL* My younger daughter was a lot smaller than my older one, so everyone would carry her. When I finally put my foot down and made her walk instead of letting her be carried, she learned in a month. She was 15 months old by that time.

I never know what kids are thinking when they do things for some & not for others. My daughter was an early walker - she was doing her first steps around 8 - 8 1/2 months & was off & racing within a couple days of her first steps but my cousin didn't walk or talk until she was 2 so it's not a big deal. He'll do his thing when he's good & ready! Someone else said he's probably practising for you & you know, that's probably the case. My daughter was happy to walk & stuff for us, but when we were at my parents place, she just kept falling over & wouldn't put more than 2 or 3 steps together. It might just be nerves or something :)

hes practicing for you mommy. He wants to make sure he can do it just right just for you. Kids walk at different stages. Before you know it he will be running around and you will be trying to catch up with him lol.

My youngest daughter walked at the age of 1 year and a half... but I think its normal...shes advenced in some other ways... Dont feel bad about it... In time... your son will be far from you reach because he would rather run around the house, the yard... and youll wish he hadnt learned that fast...hehehehe
