I've been trying to quit smoking for a couple months now. But, it seems like everytime I almost quit I start chain smoking again! It's killing me! I hate it, I think it's a digusting habit, I just can't stop though. I've been told to try the patch, has anyone tried this and it worked? I'm interested in what has worked for other people.

Gradually cut down your amount everyday, and find other coping mechanisms to deal with stress --- maybe even tea or coffee, since both boost your metabolism, dopamine, and heart rate like smoking does. You could go on the patch or the gum, I guess. I'd recommend also checking out Saint John's Wort. It's a natural herbal medicine that increases your serotonin, dopamine, and all those other pleasant neurotransmitters that make you feel good (the light effects of nicotine). I've been taking Saint's John Wort for awhile now; it's really curbed my stress and need for nicotine too, usually leaving me in a semi-relaxed, semi-blank state of mind. You could find it a regular pharmacy (Duane Reade) or the Vitamin Shoppe.

I’m not a smoker but I recently learnt from the tv programs that one of a effective way to quit smoking is by taking radish. Take a radish and cut it into thin slices and add some vinegar and honey to make them tasty. Take the stuffs before breakfast. This will kill the appetite of smoking. It’s simple, no harm trying.
