I would love to hear your stories and hopefully learn from you. I have been sick for the last couple of weeks. I had severe nausea, terrible thirst and I was going pee a lot so I kinda figured this is what was coming. Anyways after blood work being done and getting a reading of 22.2 the doctors were very concerned. It happened on a Saturday so they made me go right to the hospital and get some IV and some medication. Now this was just this past weekend. Now I saw my doctor Monday and he wants to approach it slowly. Doesn't want to overwhelm me with information. He weighed me and said we have to get some of this weight off. He said you have to start eating healthy and exercising. I have know this for a long time so I think this scare just got me off my butt to do something. I am a bit nervous about what I am eating. I am trying to stick to fruit, veggies, whole grains and lean meat, fish or chicken. I think it will be easier for me once I see a dietitian. The one thing the nurse told me that I didn't know is it takes diabetics longer to heal. Anyways I appreciate any advice. Thanks.
