I just read that Imus will sue CBS for firing him and now refusing to give him his 40 million for the four years left on his five year contract at 10 million a year.
What is concerning me right now is whether or not Don Imus said what he did because he felt that his contract would protect him, or he thought he could not be fired, or both.
Although, I hate the comments that he made and in my heart I believe he is racist, he is still a human being and if he felt that his contract made it seem that it was okay to say what he said, then by all means, he should either be given his money or his job back after working out a new contract that requires him to curve his tongue.
I mean, fair is fair, and he is a man who has a life and his livelyhood has been snatched away. Even Bill Gates would feel 40 million and he is suppose to be the richest man in the world.
I don't know if it would feel like a tap or a sledge hammer, but he would feel 40 million. I just hope that a fair outcome is for all involved.

I feel that Imus also knows about edicate and what he should or should not say. I feel if a person has a contract to do a job it does not always protect you from being fired for doing stupid things.
Imus is still working his has a show that is not so well know publically he will be be back on the air. I feel he needs to retire and shut up. But that is me.

I think Imus should sue, and he'll probably win. The thing is, the statement he made about the women's team wasn't the worst thing he ever said. The women on the team met with him, and accepted his apology.
If he had of broke the contract, you could bet CBS would take action against him, right?

This is what I am trying to say. If they were going to get rid of him simply for his racism and rude comments, they would have done that a long time ago. I believe that he had permission to be as bad as he wanted to be.
The problem is that this time his victims were pretty young and that will upset anyone. And the fact that he said it on the air did not help matters. I am in no way on his side, like I said before, however, CBS needs to be fair and do right by him. If it makes them look bad, oh well.
