Ban People From Commenting!

Do you think that it would be fair for Mylot to allow us to ban people from commenting on our topics if they have a personal problem with that person. I mean if that person is constantly opposing your views and you feel harrassed by them, should Mylot allow us to ban them from commenting.
Say that you usually talk about making extra money and that person is always talking negatively about you wanting to do what it takes to make more money. They aren't really being rude, you are just tired of their opinion. Should Mylot allow us to block them from commenting on our discussions?

I think that would interfer or run slap in the face of freedom of speech or a person being entitled to his/her opinion Rozie. However, if they are being rude and/or abusive to you, I think it should be allowed. Have you tried talking to him/her about it? Best of luck.

yes, it will be good to have an open communication with that person to know as to what is wrong with him. why has he been bugging you? this gives me an idea. see if he is in your friend's list. if he is, then remove him. he is only making your day tinged with undersirable remarks. that way, his freedom of speech becomes nothing more of your concern.

I disagree I think we all should be allow to commett. If you see a certain person who is bathersome to your dicsussion them rate them negatively maybe they will get the picture and go away.

It would be a good idea, but I think you would have to clearly define harrassment. If someone is just annyoing you or you don't like them, then I don't think it's fair to ban them from your posts just because you don't like them.
If however, they are genuinely harrassing you, then they could be constantly rating you negatively on every post no matter what its about, and I think in that instance then they shuold be banned from your topics...or why not just report them to MyLot and they may get their account deleted? Or at least their replies deleted.
I have reported someone for just posting nonsense in my posts and the posts ended up getting removed :)

oh, if that is possible, many of us here will surely avail of it. it just so happens that there is no feature around here to that effect. message that person, mylotter, that if he has only a negative remark to give, you do not desire to hear from him at all. so if he could please stay away from your discussions.

This is what the report abuse and the downgrade buttons are for! try to communicate with this person and make them be reasonable if they can't be resonable report them.. i don't think mylot will ever give you the power to decide who reads your posts or who can comment but you can ask mylot to do it for you and if you need the help they will help you
