Do you actually hear what your children are saying when they need to talk to you

We try our best to listen to what our children have to say, especially if they have something on there minds and may find it difficult to put into words, we tell them to calm down take a deep breathe and relax and let them know we are listening. Our communication lines are always open for our children, for all the children for that matter... Thanks in advance to all who respond... :)
