Why do people grind there teeth?

Do you grind your teeth? How do you feel when you hear someone else grinding there teeth? Does it annoy you? or what? Thanks in advance to all who reply

I do not grind my teeth. The noise makes me cringe! Ughh I'm getting all weird-feeling just thinking about it! Ahh!! Lol.

Hi... Great like me you dont grind your teeth either, and yes thinking about it can make one cringe, and get that weird feeling going up your spine. Thanks for responding have a good one...

I don't grind my teeth. And if i see someone who does, i'll ask him or her to stop, because it is annoying and it's bad for your teeth and health.

hello Nardz13 I think that most people bruxate (grind teeth) as they sleep and are not even aware of it until dental problems such as TMJ arise. othertimes people may grind their teeth because they are stressed or perhaps upset and trying to maintain their composure they put that energy into their jaw and grinding their teeth. I do find it annoying, yes. especially when it is me doing it...haha
